Even though there are always great shots in your backyard, there's nothing like a road trip to challenge and invigorate your photography. In this week's podcast, I discuss coping with the elements, getting around in foreign destinations, and dealing with backing up your data while traveling.

I also talk a bit about the Nov. Photo Assignment, juxtaposition. Should be a bang-up assignment producing lots of great shots.

Another very useful episode. Good tips on camera care in humid climates and on an alternative to package excursions. I found the discussions on how long to keep the camera in the waterproof housing after returning to your room and on working with taxi drivers to be particularly interesting.

Derrick,
I just listened to your podcast ... great show and great tips. I'm with you on avoiding package tours, I really prefer to wander off by myself, I do not want to see what everyone else is going to see, I want to see what I can discover on my own.
