Book Page of the Month

"This book came about for a few reasons," writes John Farnan, "firstly my love of the City and its architecture. Secondly, I wanted to put a different slant on it -- something not covered previously -- and this book with different colours and views encompasses my view on NYC. Thirdly, I wanted to break down the city itself into landmarks and the life that rushes through it. These images will be inside the book showing NYC both fully alive, and asleep as you see on the front cover."

"This is my first attempt at a book using Blurb," writes Kenji Maeji. "I`ve always had a fascination with our ape and monkey cousins, and it's a culmination of a dream to photograph the Japanese Macaques of Northern Honshu Japan."

"This book will feature 4-year's worth of images... for all of you simian fans out there. Once I get my hands on my first test run book, I'll hopefully be using the Blurb book shop to sell it."

"Thanks Derrick for your interesting and informative podcast. It`s not easy to keep up with the torrent of new technology out there."

"I love the idea of being able to put my photos in small books," writes David Bream, featured Blurb photographer for Aug. 2010. "It's so much easier to show a nice looking book to someone rather than dragging a lot of boxes of photos around or carrying heavy binders with pictures in them."

This spread is from David's current project, Window Seat. "It is a series of black-and-white photos taken through airplane windows on various trips I've made. Attached is a sample 2-page spread from the working copy of the booklet," writes David.

"I listened to your podcast regarding making a book, dismissed the idea, rethought it, and decided to give it a try. I downloaded the software, and spent the next 3 hours making my first small sampler booklet, which I received about a week ago. I could not believe the high quality of both the color and black-and-white printing, and the speed with which the book was printed and delivered to me," adds David.
