  • Caption: I had been photographing spiders on dew drenched webs and got some fairly good shots. Then I walked around to the other side of this spider and got an even better shot. I am thinking of "about face" as pivoting to face in the opposite direction. I used techniques learned in "The Photoshop CS4 Companion for Photographers" to apply a hue/saturation adjustment layer, desaturated the image, then applied a mask to let the original color of the spider show through. Then I played with the opacity of the adjustment layer until I decided 75% was about right.
