  • Caption: This is more accident than art. I took it last year on a bicycle tour just near Glenwood Springs, Colorado with an Olympus 3040 (f/7, 1/320). I cloned out some power lines and adjusted the white point (in iPhoto!!). This was the only spot from which we could see the fire, especially on a bicycle, so the framing and viewpoint were restricted, but I was able to zoom in enough to cut out the road and fire equipment. The heavy smoke obscured most of the sky and made focusing difficult. This is not far from the deadly Storm King fire of 1994.
