- Caption: In 2008, I traveled to Antarctica. Our first activity after crossing the Drake Passage was a walkout on the ice. Our ship drove as far it could into the ice, let down the stair, and allowed the passengers off to walk the ice. As the ship drove further into the ice, I was shooting many images of the ice as it was breaking and buckling under the vessel; this image captures the experience best for me: the broken ice with a silhouette of my fellow passengers looking out from the prow.
